Sings Sweetly To Me

Each Christmas season I post some of my favorite Christmas tunes that leave me in the spirit of Christmas, and this year I am coveting these two by Tony DeSare. Found on Pandora, and instantly downloaded, his voice is like Courvoisier...it's rich, warm, smooth, and envelopes me in melodic tones of the season, quickly forgetting about the hustle and bustle...the to do lists, the baking, the shopping, the stress....it reminds of the things I love about Christmas. Press play, and take a moment to enjoy Tony DeSare's talents for yourself.

Thanksgiving Prayer

This prayer warmed my heart when I heard it from one of the kids I work with in my youth group. She's not really a 'kid' she's a young woman who inspires me, makes me laugh, and I told her after she delivered this, it was going up on The Lady & Her Pen for all to read.

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer - Scott Wesemann

When we sit down to our meal and pray
Thanks, amen. Now please pass the dressing
We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold
To really give thanks to what I’m thankful for
My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head
Whose lives touch me more than they’ll ever possibly know
Thankful that in my heart lives life’s greatest treasure
And I’m ever so grateful for Your unending grace
And bless each and every person invited

Lord, so often times, as any other day
We hurry along and make fast the blessing
We’re slaves to the olfactory overload
But Lord, I’d like to take a few minutes more
For my family, my health, a nice soft bed
I’m thankful right now to be surrounded by those
Thankful Lord, that You’ve blessed me beyond measure
That You, dear Jesus, reside in that place
So please, heavenly Father, bless this food You’ve provided

Amen!

I believe

Originally discovered here. Too inspiring not to repost.

"To believe is to know that every day is a new beginning. It is to trust that miracles happen, and dreams really do come true. To believe is to see angels dancing among the clouds. To know the wonder of a stardust sky and the wisdom of the man in the moon. To believe is to know the value of a nurturing heart The innocence of a child’s eyes and the beauty of an aging hand, for it is through their teachings we learn to love. To believe is to find the strength and courage that lies within us. When it is time to pick up the pieces and begin again. To believe is to know we are not alone. That life is a gift and this is our time to cherish it. To believe is to know that wonderful surprises are just waiting to happen. And all our hopes and dreams are within reach. If only we believe."

It’s called 'Heaven’s Trail'.  Found here.

Advice from a Tree

Such sage advice from a tree.....a favorite from a friend ....

Hmmm....basic needs that we so quickly forget...does it get more simplier than that? Read this thought-provoking "5 minute Inspiration" here at Caroline Bakker's blog....so beautifully said.

Picture above, here.

Love Letters

I discovered this amazing project today...More Love Letters... please if you have time check out their site and just read over some of the beautiful letters people write. Out of the kindness of their hearts, everyday people writing to others, in need of some love. {Who isn't in need of love.}

Whatever you are hoping for,
Whatever you are wishing for,
Whatever you need,

If it's love, give your love away.
If it's food, donate some of it.
If it's compassion, be more compassionate.
If you need understanding, try to be more understanding of others.
If you need more patience, practice it.
If you need more time, give more of your time.

And if you are like me, or like many of us, and hunger for love, give your love away freely and without strings...uncondionally. Smile at the stranger on the street. Warmly greet the person who gives you your coffee. Wave someone forward when at a stop sign. Use your car horn less. Do you really need to rush? Where are you going so fast? Every morning as I pull out of the garage, I see the sun rise over the trees and I say "good morning God :)" Let all you do be done in love.  One of my best friends signs her emails with the quote by Mother Theresa

Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.
–Mother Teresa

With all of my love,  each and every day,
